Zagreb Be There - New Routes on the Zagreb Be There Mobile App

History, art and good beer all have their new routes on the Zagreb Be There mobile app.

The popular Zagreb Be There mobile app, which provides tourists and locals alike with insider knowledge about the best of Zagreb, this summer too has refreshed its recommendations for visitors to the city through three new routes.

The ever-original TV presenter Robert Knjaz, known for his unusual TV series in which he presents famous peoples in a witty way, has put together the Famous Croats route. In a charming and witty way Knjaz’s route leads tourists through unexpected local stories and offers a fun view of the history of Zagreb. Travelling the Famous Croats route tourists learn more about Slavoljub Penkala, Matija Gubec, Tin Ujević and the film “Tko pjeva zlo ne misli” (One Song A Day Takes Mischief Away) and the unknown boy with a statue raised in his honour.

The highly-regarded street artist Boris Bare has put together the Street Art route which takes you round Zagreb’s most interesting murals. If you head along this route you’ll get to know some impressive works of street art such as the Whale on the walls of the Gradec gallery, Gulliver on Opatovina or the mural on Dolac inspired by the picture “Moje gnjezdo” (My Nest) by famous artist Vlaho Bukovac. And one of the most influential foreigners with a Zagreb address, UB40’s Nick Colgan, founder of the Garden festival and the brewery of the same name, has put together the Craft beer route as a result of the blossoming Zagreb craft beer scene. On this route even if you have the most demanding palate you are sure to find something you’ll like, tasting all the flavours from the local master brewers. The Zagreb Be There app is free and available for Android and iPhone, and can be downloaded from the micro site betherezagreb.com.
