5th Edition of Sea of Books: Can Going to the Beach be Exciting?

Zagreb has its own sea! Well, not literally of course but now fans of books and movies can enjoy going to the beach at the very heart of the city thanks to the Sea of Books, a cultural event taking place until mid-July.

Zagreb’s Zrinjevac park, located in the city centre, is hosting More knjiga (A Sea of Books) between the 1^st and 14^th of July, every day from 10 in the morning until midnight. For the fifth year in a row visitors will be able to read books in Croatian and English while soaking up the beautiful Zrinjevac park. Over five hundred free titles will be available for booklovers to enjoy while lounging comfortably in deckchairs. Other literature-related events will also be featured.

The theme of this year’s Sea of Books is intergalactic travel, and the design of the park’s unusual urban beach will be fully in line with the fantastical theme. Coffee and sweet and salty snacks will be available to make the reading experience even more pleasant. Visitors will have the chance to mingle with artists, welcome nightfall with various events and enjoy movie screenings on the green grass of Zrinjevac park.
