A blend of tradition and quality - The Zagreb Olive Festival

After last year’s success, and with the hope of becoming a traditional event for gatherings of citizens and olive farmers, the 2nd Zagreb Oil Festival will feature a diverse and educational programme for the visitors to enjoy.

On February 4th and 5th, the Zagreb Fair will be the venue for the 2nd Zagreb Oil Festival. The festival is organized by the Zagreb Olive Institute association, which has prepared a diverse programme for the public to enjoy, including various specialist lectures about olive oil production in Croatia, as well as the nutritional and health properties of olive oil, tastings in which participants will learn the difference between good and bad oils, as well as a workshop on making various balms based on olive oil. There will also be a sales exhibition, while visitors will also have the opportunity to taste the best olive oils and various dishes and treats made from olives.

Since the Zagreb Olive Institute undertakes double blind tests of olive oils according to the highest global quality standards, the results of the analysis of evaluated oils will be revealed during the festival, while the best oil makers will get diplomas and medals. Therefore, the organiser is inviting all olive farmers to deliver their oils for analysis by the deadline of January 10th 2017 so they may partake in the sales exhibition. Thereby, visitors will have the  opportunity to see all of the presented products in one place, as well as get first-hand information about them from the producers and eventually buy some of them. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to olive farmers, find out everything they want to know and gain new and useful knowledge.

More information about the way samples are sent for analysis and everything else that interests you is available online at www.zagreboliveinstitute.hr
