A concert - The Subways at the Culture Factory

Among the numerous musicians and bands who will hold concerts at the Culture Factory this month, on December 9th the venue will be host to a performance by the British garage indie rock band The Subways. This is their only appearance in the region, and it will take place as part of their current tour.

As part of their large tour, the British garage indie rock band, The Subways, will perform their only concert in the region on December 9th at the Culture Factory.

The band was founded in 2002 and it consists of three members - frontman and guitarist Billy Lunn, bassist Charlotte Cooper, and Lunn’s brother, Josh Morgan, on the drums. Their first album, “Young for Eternity”, was released in 2005, and the album single, “Oh Yeah”, made it to number 25 on the UK Music Chart. The release of this album marked the band’s rise, resulting in several tours and an increase in the number of large open-air festival performances after the release of their second album, “All Or Nothing” in 2007.

Thus far, the band has released four albums, the latest one, “The Subways”, in 2011. This album is special because the band worked on it completely independently, from material preparation, across to recording and production, to mixing, and they named it after the band itself.  Critics hailed the album as an ode to rock, but also called it the perfect noise reminiscent of original punk. The band is planning to  release the EP “Good Times Live”, which was recorded earlier this year at the Gampel open-air music festival in Switzerland.

Tickets for The Subways concert can be purchased at the Culture Factory box office or via Entrio at a price of HRK 50 until the day of the concert when ticket prices will be HRK 70 apiece.
