A Healthy Body is a Healthy Mind: From Marathons to Ice Rinks

The Zagreb Marathon and the Golden Bear competition invite amateurs and professionals out onto the city streets.

Location: Trg bana Josipa Jelačića. Date: 14 October 2018. Reason for meeting: the 27^th Zagreb Marathon! Ever greater numbers of running fans in Zagreb, amateurs and professionals alike, will fill the central city square to bursting so that they can set off in the battle to cover the kilometres and win just by taking part in another Zagreb Marathon. The 5 km race starts at 10:10 a.m., while at 10:00 a.m. sharp participants in the 21 km half marathon and the 42.2 km marathon set off to run the streets of Zagreb, in the heart of the city and its surrounding areas. The route of the marathons is flat, with no steep inclines. The start and the finishing line are on Trg bana Jelačića, traffic has been completely diverted and the route is under the scrutiny of judges, wardens and police officers.

The Medveščak ice skating club is happy to invite you to the international Golden Bear figure skating competition, part of the International Skating Union’s calendar. This year celebrates 30 years of the competition, and it is expected that this year, from 24 to 28 October at the ice rink at Zagreb Fair, it will host some 200 young skaters, starting from 5 years old to top international skaters in the Junior and Senior categories.
