A jubilee edition - 10th PSSST! Silent Film Festival

The Trešnjevka Culture Centre has prepared an impressive programme for the 10th jubilee edition of PSSST! Silent Film Festival. Of the total of 90 works which have been submitted from all over the world, 26 will compete for the Brcko Grand Prize.

Between November 10th and 12th, the 10th jubilee edition of the PSSST! Silent Film Festival will take place at the Trešnjevka Culture Centre. This  unique festival, which presents the topic of silent movies in a particularly attractive way allowing artists to express themselves with this specific way of story telling, always attracts an impressive audience.

This year, over 90 works from all over the world have been submitted  as potential contestants in the competition part of the programme.  The panel of judges has shortlisted 26 films whose authors will compete for the  Brcko Grand Prize, named after the hero of the first Croatian silent film Brcko in Zagreb. All the films will be shown accompanied by live music.

In addition to the competition part of the programme, the festival also presents silent movie classics. This year, the PSSST! Silent Film Festival  introduces a new topic, dedicated to film and modernity. Also this year, the festival is host to the kindred Polish Film Festival Niemego from Krakow, which will present Henryk Szaro’s “Strong Man” and  Aleksande Hertz’s “People with no Tomorrow”.

The PSSST! Silent Film Festival is organised under the auspices of the City Office for Education, Culture and Sport and the entrance to all the screenings is free of charge.
