The new passenger terminal in its first phase will be able to handle 5 million travellers, and when its second phase is complete that number will rise to 8 million. The terminal building is distinguished byits contemporary design and innovative solutions in a space covering 65,000 m2. There are 30 check in desks, 23 desks at passport control, more than 3 km of conveyor belts for luggage in the latest automated sorting facility; there are 1100 parking spaces around the terminal, and for the first time in the history of Zagreb Airport there are eightpassenger boarding bridges; six for international flights and two for domestic flights. All of this takes air travel to a new level – to pure enjoyment. The new terminal was designed by Branko Kincl, Velimir Neidhardt and Jure Radić and it can already be said that it is a new symbol of the city of Zagreb and of Croatia.
