Every Saturday until the end of summer, Maksimir Park will be the venue for the Zagreb Picnic. It is a new, innovative tourism project aimed at everyone who enjoys spending time outdoors in good company in one of the most beautiful parks in Europe.
Maksimir Park was opened in the late 18th century and generations of Zagreb’s citizens and numerous tourists have found it to be a perfect place for refuge and relaxation even today. Therefore, do not think twice about spending your free Saturdays having a picnic with family, children and friends in this green oasis in the middle of the city. You do not even have to worry about taking the time to prepare a snack because Zagreb Picnic baskets are available at the park. Apart from tasty homemade sandwiches, cheeses and cream, they will consist of cookies, fruit and vegetables from Zagreb’s markets, as well as refreshing drinks. The picnic baskets are made for two, four and six persons, and they contain everything necessary for a picnic in good company. Several DJs will be responsible for entertainment, while all participants can also enjoy various board games or relax whilst reading a good book because Maksimir also features a small open-air library.
Zagreb Picnic will take place between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and the entire project is organised by Katapult Promocija in cooperation with the Maksimir Public Institution, the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb Tourist Board.
Admission to Zagreb Picnic is free.
