A Touch of Broadway and the West End in Zagreb Arena –“Evita”

Lovers of musicals have a treat in store on 28 February when the musical “Evita”, created by world renowned author Tim Rice and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, comes to Zagreb.

This masterpiece has won many awards for the songs “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, “You Must Love Me” and “Another Suitcase in Another Hall”, as well as winning a prestigious Tony award for best musical. We will experience a touch of glamour, excellent production, dance and song in a musical which perhaps best describes the life of Maríe Eve Duarte de Perón.

Evita was the second wife of Argentine President Juan Perón, she was First Lady for six years, and was known fondly as Evita by the Argentine people. She was a true representative of her people and a fighter for women’s rights in her country. The musical “Evita” has been performed with exceptional success for 40 years on Broadway and in the West End, and has been translated into 14 languages.

The 2017/2018 tour is produced by the Broadway Entertainment Group, and the director of the musical is Bill Kenwright, known for many musicals and plays, and also as the current Chairman of Everton Football Club. The leading role in the musical is performed by Emma Hatton, known for her performances in many musicals such as We Will Rock You, Dreamboats and Petticoats and many more.
