This October, the Maksimir Zoo is continuing its “Abracadabra Zoo” programme which takes children on an unforgettable night tour of the zoo. The tour features live action performances which provide an introduction to Croatian fairy tales and legends. During the tour, the children will learn a lot, amongst other things that the greatest value lies in their hearts. They will also get to know the nocturnal animals which feature prominently in various beliefs. On their mythical journey, they will encounter many good, as well as bad characters, who would like to conquer the others and rule over the zoo forever. They will be stopped by the loyal protector of children, the good witch of Maksimir. Together with pure-hearted children, she will overcome the evil forces of goddess Ljutica, which have creeped into the zoo this year, and break the spell over the kind, yet quarrelsome gods of the Sun and Moon.
The “Abracadabra Zoo” programme lasts for three hours and takes place in two groups. Each group may consist of up to 26 people. The first group starts its tour at 6.15 p.m., while the second group begins at 8.15 p.m. The programme is aimed at families with children over the age of five, while children under ten must be accompanied by an adult. Ticket prices are 60 kuna for children under the age of 14, and 80 kuna for adults.
