An Exciting New Name at the INmusic Festival – Skunk Anansie!
One more exciting name from the world of music is joining the INmusic festival lineup - Skunk Anansie!
On the main stage of the 13th INmusic festival they will bring us well-known hits such as “Secretly”, “Hedonism”, “Weak” and many more. Skunk Anansie are coming back to INmusic no. 13 to keep the promise they made at INmusic no. 11. They didn’t perform in 2016 because lead singer Skin was ill. This famous British rock foursome is made up of charismatic singer Deborah Anne Dyer, better known as Skin, bassist Cas, guitarist Ace and drummer Mark. The band was formed in 1994 and its name was inspired by a west African folk tale about Anansie, a mythological human-shaped spider from Ghana, together with the word “Skunk” to make it “sound nastier”. In its first decade the band sold more than five million albums and held seven sell-out world tours. In 2004 they were entered in the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles and Albums as one of the most successful British performers of the last 50 years. The members of the band temporarily split in 2002, only to reform in 2009 as the same band. They have released six studio albums to date, and the last studio album “Anarchytecture” came out in 2016.
It’s also worth a reminder that Queens of the Stone Age will be playing, the first headliners to be announced for 2018’s INmusic festival which will be held from 25 to 27 June at the well known location of Zagreb’s Jarun lake. However, that’s not all! Also appearing on the INmusic main stage with his musical and theatrical performance is the great David Byrne, the creative force behind Talking Heads, the winner of Oscars, Grammys and Golden Globes, a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in the last ten years also an exceptionally successful and acclaimed solo musician, photographer, director and author. David Byrne has earned a reputation as one of the most heterogeneous, courageous and significant musicians of our time. Only in the past few years David Byrne has found himself at the focus of the artistic audience because of a whole range of successful and diverse works, from musicals and theatre works and all-encompassing performance art works to contemporary publicist classics. David Byrne is the embodiment of creative energy and artistic relevance of contemporary music and an irreplaceable rock icon whose live performance leaves no-one unmoved.
