Arena Zagreb – Concert by the LADO Ensemble

On 3 June at 8 pm for the first time and with a completely new programme the LADO ensemble are appearing at the Zagreb Arena.

The name of the completely new programme, which lasts the whole evening long and which the LADO ensemble have put together especially for 2017 is “Under the Century-Old Oak”. It is named after a choreographic work of the same name inspired by Slavic mythology, the elements of which are present in the customs of St George's Day, St John's Day and wedding celebrations. The programme confirms a new artistic practice which requires creating a completely new programme lasting the whole evening long for every season. The concert is comprised of two parts which are interconnected. The pieces meld into each other without any breaks for applause until the very end of the concert, and the production is modern, which was until now unheard of in the folklore arts in this part of the world. The programme “Under the Century-Old Oak” brings for the first time into the repertoire of the LADO ensemble the songs and dances of Croatian communities in Austria, Hungary and in the region along the River Sutla.
