At the Upper Town - The beginning of autumn is packed with events
Between September 24th and October 4th, the “At the Upper Town” event will be organized in beautiful locations across the Upper Town, and it will feature various events to welcome autumn.
The summer has ended, but the fun in the Upper Town continues into autumn. Various happenings will take place as part of the “At the Upper Town” event, which unifies the “Gričevanje”, “Device_art 5015” and the “Space Festival” with the goings-on at the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery. The event will take place between September 24th and October 4th, and will feature diverse concerts and parties, robotic performances, exhibitions and DIY workshops for children and adults alike, so make sure to visit and enjoy the programme at the beginning of this autumn. One of the main attractions is the popular “Gričevanje”, a festival of urban music and culture which will be bigger than ever and take place in three locations. One of the headline performers will be TBF, the always entertaining band from Split.
“Device_art 5015”, an international triennial festival of robotics, gadgets and devices which combines art and technology, will invigorate the terrace at Gradec and the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery with exciting robotics performances, DIY workshops and sound device installations. The festival will present renowned artists from Canada as well as Croatia and the region, including Canadians Catherine Bechard, Sabin Hudson, Maxime Damecour and Myriam Bleau, Croatian Vitra Drinković, Slovenian Saša Spačal, etc. Concurrently, the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery will be the venue for the “Street Art 2.0: Innovation in the Heart of Movement” exhibition, which will mark the closing of the Rendez-Vous Festival of France in Croatia, as well as offer a historic insight into street art since its beginnings. The exhibition will feature works by artists from all over the world, including Isaac Cordal, Truly Collective, Zeus, Slinkashu, Ron English, Shephard Fairey and JR.
Fans of punk will certainly enjoy the “Space Festival” at the Lotršćak Tower because this particular music genre is the festival’s theme for this year.
“At the Upper Town” is a joint project by the Gričevanje and Kontejner – The Buro for Contemporary Artistic Practice associations, the Kupola – Better Than a Tent company, and the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery.
The project is backed by the Zagreb Tourist Board and the Department for Tourism of the City Office for Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship.
Entrance to all of the events of the “At the Upper Town” happening are free.
