Big 7 Travel, a global portal dedicated to travelling and lifestyle, has named Advent in Zagreb the third best Christmas market in the world. This high position was won by Zagreb among around 50 finalists.
Christkindlmarkt-Leavenworth in Washington, in the US came top of the list, followed by Birmingham's Frankfurt Christmas Market in the UK. Christmas Village Belvedere Palace in Vienna came fourth, while the fifth place was won by Stellenbosch Slow Market in South Africa.
Big 7 Travel, which has more than 2.5 million followers from more than 190 world countries on social networking sites, explained that Zagreb is a nice place with excellent atmosphere whose title of the most beautiful Christmas market in Europe is well-deserved. The authors also stress that the entire city is “taken over by a Christmas spirit” and praise street food offer, outdoor ice rink in the city centre, rides for the kids, stalls with hand-made products and the overall atmosphere in the city.
