Concert Spectacle at Šalata – Duran Duran

Duran Duran, one of the greatest pop bands of all time, is coming back to Croatia after 16 years and their first and as yet only performance!

The people of Zagreb and the entire region will have the chance to see them at the big Open Air extravaganza at Šalata on 29 August.

Duran Duran is doubtless one of the greatest mainstream bands and musical institutions which has come up with some of the greatest pop hits of all time. They have a 35-year-long career behind them, 14 studio albums and more than 100 million record sales around the world, as well as countless awards. What began as an alternative music story in Birmingham, England in 1982 in just two years grew into an international sensation. We remember the albums “Duran Duran”, “Rio”, “Seven and the Ragged Tiger”, “Notorious” and “Big Thing” as well as “Thank You”, “Red Carpet Massacre”, and their latest, highly acclaimed album “Paper Gods” with which they have departed on a grand world tour. The band is coming to Zagreb exactly as part of that tour.

Fronted by the charismatic Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran have, as music and fashion icons, influenced generations of musicians and pop culture itself. Duran Duran's songs have been widely covered, and the artists who have played their interpretations of Duran Duran's heritage include Franz Ferdinand, Korn, Deftones and Courtney Love and Hole.

Tickets to the Zagreb performance are priced the lowest on the entire tour, with prices starting at 210 kuna. The official ticket outlets are: Dirty Old Shop, Rockmark, Aquarius CD Shop, Dallas Music Shop Rijeka and all Eventim outlets.

Duran Duran at Šalata is just part of Zagreb's packed concert year, especially the summer. It is worth being reminded of all sorts of things: the INmusic festival which brings us, among many others, global attractions Kings of Leon; a range of concerts in Tvornica kulture where The Kills will be playing, and Šalata where Prophets of Rage, House of Pain and favourites of Zagreb audiences, the legendary The Cult will be playing.
