Congresses - A significant leap on the ICCA scale

Year after year Zagreb is becoming an increasingly important destination for organising congresses and other gatherings, which greatly influences its progress on the ICCA scale.

In 2015, Zagreb moved up 15 positions on the International Congress and Convention scale in comparison with the previous year. The Croatian capital now holds the 64^th position among a total of 373 cities worldwide.

According to the Convention Bureau of the Zagreb Tourist Board, 233 business gatherings were held in the Croatian capital last year. Since 115 business gatherings have already taken place in the first five months of 2016, the total number is once again expected to increase this year, which is another opportunity to advance on the prestigious ICCA scale.

The popularity of Zagreb as a congress destination is a result of its tourism activity as well as the improving congress and transport infrastructure.
