Dear citizens and guests of Zagreb!

The month of February is playfully unpredictable and lively, and so is the very diverse offer of events in our city. Apart from numerous cultural happenings, this month we are looking forward to days filled with love and traditional carnival processions.

Fans of chocolate and coffee have definitely hit the jackpot. Use some of your free time to visit the 5th Zagreb Coffee & Chocofest and enjoy the sweetest event in town. Through various promotions, presentations, workshops and sales, numerous Croatian as well as foreign manufacturers and importers will present the latest trends in gastronomy and in the coffee and chocolate industries, while artists will convey the allure of chocolate artistry using various techniques. All coffee and chocolate aficionados will have the opportunity to hug each other at the Square of Ban Josip Jelačić, and take a photo in front of the large Zagreb Coffee & Chocofest heart which is three metres in diameter. Combine the pleasant and the practical by giving a loved one a small, chocolate token of affection for Valentine’s Day. Youngsters and those that are young at heart will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy the carnival festivities. During the time of carnival there will be an abundance of fun and entertainment for all. Make sure to visit the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall and dance the night away at the costume ball, or visit the traditional, 190th edition of the Samobor carnival.

Also, visit the upcoming Wedding Fair at Arena Zagreb, or the Nautical Fair and the Hotel & Gastroteh Fair at the Zagreb Fair. The last two bring together manufacturers, distributors and exhibitors in those particular fields, and contribute to the enhancement of the tourist offer.

Finally, there is also something for fans of documentary film. In late February, make sure to visit the traditional ZagrebDox – the international festival of documentary film, which will feature screenings of the best and most creative documentary films, whose imaginative forms and themes make this festival unique in Croatia as well as abroad.

Sincerely yours,

Milan Bandić

Mayor of Zagreb
