Dear citizens of Zagreb, dear guests!
With the coming of spring many will again start to refer fondly to Zagreb as «their open air lounge» from which they can contentedly watch the numerous events which will, with the coming of spring weather, be reactivated once again on the city streets and squares.
To the delight of citizens and tourists alike the wonderful Zagreb Time Machine continues, an exceptionally rich cultural and artistic programme which faithfully presents the tourist identity of our city. On the streets of the Upper Town and the city centre the history of the city unfolds: with the women who sell dairy produce at Dolac market, the promenade concerts and dance evenings on Zrinjevac square, the merry Tkalčijana programme of entertainment and the impressive Changing of the Guard of Honour of the Cravat Regiment the streets and squares are transformed into a real treat for tourists.
In the first half of April in Boćarski dom in Zagreb the 16th Croatian Village Produce fair will be held; the most important fair showcasing village produce in Croatia which is also an interesting platform for the presentation and promotion of traditional produce to tourists and visitors to our city. The basic aims of this event are the promotion and sale of produce from Croatian villages and providing consumers with produce that they may have difficulty in obtaining. Some 300 exhibitors from all over Croatia are expected.
During the course of April the following spring fairs will be held, four of them in all: Interklima – the 24th international fair of heating, air conditioning, drinking water treatment and renewable energy; Construction – the 40th international fair of building and interior design; Interprotex – the 12th international fair of protective equipment for people and property, and EMAT – the 9th international fair of environmental protection and equipment for utilities. Each of these truly has an attractive offering. Towards the end of the month at the same location do not miss the Zagreb Crafts Fair which has the aim of promoting crafts among young people.
Dear guests, welcome to Zagreb, enjoy the spring and the spring rhythm of our city!
Sincerely yours,
Milan Bandić
Mayor of the City of Zagreb
