Dear citizens of Zagreb, dear visitors!

With the advent of autumn and rainy days in our city, we continue to organise many interesting events which take place indoors, but whose locations are equally attractive. I would like to invite you to keep on exploring our beautiful city, which has become a widely recognised tourist destination.

Ambienta, the 46th International Furniture, Interior Decoration and Supporting Industry Fair will take place at the Zagreb Fair. This fair, whose concept has been redefined, is a very significant business event in the field of forest-based industries and interior design. This year it continues to experience growth in terms of quality of exhibits and in additional and expert segment. Art Fair Zagreb, the largest art fair in Croatia, will take place within the framework of Ambienta, gathering a number of art fans and art dealers. Over a span of five days it will become the central place where to encounter, get familiar with and present contemporary art pieces and antiques to the wider public. This year’s Zagreb Maker Faire, an exhibition of inventors, a fun fair and a family festival of innovation, creativity and technology, will take place in the Technical Museum Nikola Tesla. Manufacturers gather here to present their projects to the wider public and the main element is trying new things.

An event which is widely popular among the citizens of Zagreb as well as tourists, the Restaurant Week is back in town with its 19th edition. This is an event that promotes and advertises Croatian gastro scene in cooperation with caterers. The participating restaurants provide a special offer to visitors in the form of promotional menus. The concept is based on world metropolitan centres and adjusted to suit the Croatian market.

We also invite you to visit the 2019 Zagreb Tourfilm Festival where films and audio-visual production which promotes tourism will be awarded. The aim of the festival is to reward films that promote Croatia as a tourist destination.

In order to preserve your health and maintain your level of fitness we invite you to join the 28th Zagreb Marathon. It is the most popular race in the country gathering more than a thousand participants in the main part of the programme. This year, the 28th edition of the event again has a humanitarian tone but in a new format. The Croatian Association of Lung Transplantation Patients (INSPIRO) in cooperation with the Zagreb marathon would like to raise awareness about the importance of playing sports. The aim of the cooperation is to stimulate and help patients to start having an active and healthy lifestyle after lung transplantation.

Enjoy the colours of autumn and special events that we prepared for you!

Yours faithfully,

Mayor of the City of Zagreb

Milan Bandić
