Dear friends and business partners

After 47 days of walking and 1163 kilometres, at temperatures that reached as low as -27 degrees Celsius, travel writer, explorer and photographer Davor Rostuhar has successfully completed the first Croatian expedition to the South Pole.

Davor Rostuhar has made his polar dream come true and has become the first Croat and the 21st person in the world to do so. Many congratulations to Davor Rostuhar for this ambitious undertaking and this great success. He has proven what he said to us upon arriving at his goal: you can make your dreams come true if you believe in them. This is an inspiring achievement, proof that dedication and hard work are guarantees of success.

There will certainly be much said about dedication, hard work and success at the many congregations of workers in the tourist industry which Zagreb hosts. The 4th Family Accommodation Forum is one of the most visited tourism gatherings in Croatia. As a part of this, the largest annual gathering of hosts with accommodation services, there will be awards for the best micro and small businesses in family tourism within the campaign “Tourist Flower – Quality for Croatia 2017”. During the two-day gathering there will be many presentations, expert panels and educational workshops on the themes of sales, marketing and increasing quality levels. All of this guarantees even better results in the area of family tourism which is an exceptionally important link in the chain for the success of Zagreb’s tourism as well.

Leaders in the health tourism sector will gather in Hotel Westin at the prestigious HTI Conference. A great many top experts and leaders in the health tourism industry, more than 400 of them from Europe and the rest of the world, will gather to decide how to address the great challenges that await health tourism in the coming years.

Zagreb is also the host of the eighth Annual Central & Eastern Europe MCE Forum. The Croatian capital has been recognised as the ideal destination for international customers and service providers in the MICE sector to socialise and make connections. We are especially proud that Croatia’s capital has also been selected as host due to its rich history, lively cultural life, relaxed and friendly atmosphere and excellent gastronomic offering. We wish participants in all congresses a pleasant and successful stay.

Zagreb Light Bridge is a project in partnership with the City of Zagreb and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to mark the Chinese New Year and take part in the EU-China Light Bridge project since the year 2018 has been proclaimed the year of tourism between the EU and China. Lanterns will be lit along the Zagreb Fountains and Ulica Hrvatske bratske zajednice, and the fountains will be lit in the red colour of the flag of the People's Republic of China. At the imposing entry point to the city centre this is how we will connect Zagreb and China, a country whose people are among the most numerous visitors to our city.

Welcome!
