Dom Sportova Sports Hall - The IJF Judo Grand Prix Zagreb

This year’s IJF Judo Grand Prix Zagreb 2016 will once again bring together many competitors from several countries who will again make it one of the greatest judo spectacles in the world.

Between September 23rd and 25th, the Dom Sportova Sports Hall will be the venue for the IJF Judo Grand Prix Zagreb 2016. In the fourth edition of the popular World Judo Tour, Zagreb will once again be host to one of the most significant judo tournaments in the world.

Since points won at this tournament count for placement in the Olympic Games, as many as ten medal winners from Rio de Janeiro, including three gold medal winners, used last year’s Grand Prix in Zagreb as the springboard for their greatest career successes. Since this year’s Grand Prix will also feature many contestants, the competition will be fierce, and Croatian representatives, including award winners Barbara Matić and Marijana Mišković Hasanbegović, will also have the opportunity to compete for medals. Among them are also the talented juniors, including the current junior world champion, Brigita Matić, as well as the greatest seniors on the international scene, Zlatko Kumrić and Dominik Družeta. Tena Šikić, who returned with medals from the Grand Slam in Russia and the Grand Prix in Mongolia, also has a lot to prove.

The competition programme will begin every day at 10 a.m., while final fights will take place at 5 p.m. The contest organiser is the Croatian Judo Federation.
