Explore Zagreb - A new Routemaster bus tour

A new prospect has been added to the offer of interesting sightseeing tours of Zagreb: you can now take an attractive Routemaster bus and explore the city from the open top of this original vehicle.

If you want to explore the city, you can now take a ride on a double-decker Routemaster bus and get to know Zagreb’s sights from the open top of this attractive vehicle. The bus is one of the small series of a hundred such vehicles which were made in 1960 for tourist purposes. Only about twenty or so of the original buses still operate in London, and a few of them can be seen in several other European cities.

The organiser of this sightseeing tour is Cab Club. The tour starts and ends at the tourist bus stop in front of the row of buildings in Palmotićeva 2. The tour was not conceived as a hop-on hop-off, i.e. the bus does not stop anywhere on its journey, which means that passengers can not get off until the tour ends. There are no live guides or earphones on the bus, but there is a programme in Croatian and English with a detailed description of the 17 attractions which are featured on the tour. However, this does not mean that the bus crew will not be more than willing to provide promotional materials and additional information on demand.

For the time being, Routemaster bus tours are organised on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, departing on the hour. Tickets for the tour cost 90 kuna and can be purchased from the driver or reserved by calling Cab Club on +385 98 472 220. Friday departures are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday departures are on the hour between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and on Sundays the bus departs between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Children under three ride for free, while children under 14 pay only 45 kuna.
