Between September 11th and 20th, Zagreb’s most beautiful park – Zrinjevac, will be the venue for the first FOOD FILM FESTIVAL Zagreb. Conceived as a gourmet event dedicated to foodie films which combines the art of film with the art of preparing food, it will offer visitors an unforgettable film and gastronomy experience at the end of the summer season.
Through various gastronomic presentations, the festival will showcase Zagreb’s best restaurants, bistros, confectioneries and family farms, while the evening hours will be reserved for the screenings of films with food as their focus. The open-air stage set up at Zagreb’s beautiful park will feature the screenings of some of the best known foodie films, such as “Chocolat” – based on Joanne Harris’ namesake novel, “Jiro Dreams of Sushi”, “Chef”, “Julie and Julia”, “Haute Cuisine” and “Big Night”. Meanwhile, Zagreb’s best chefs and confectioners will be preparing meals and various other delicacies featured on the big screen, offering visitors a multi-sensory experience and the opportunity to taste the food seen in the films.
Apart from the interesting cinematic and culinary experiences, visitors can also look forward to an abundance of other interesting events, such as cooking and wine workshops, gastro presentations and guest appearances by globally renowned chefs, as well as actors from some of the screened films. All the dishes will be on offer daily at gastro-huts at very affordable prices, between 11 a.m. and 11.30 p.m.
Admittance to the festival is free of charge, and its partners are the City of Zagreb and the Zagreb Tourist Board.
