From Knight’s Armour to the Outdoor Festival – Everyone to Medvednica!

There’s something for everyone on Mount Medvednica in September, whether you’re a fan of medieval knights or of outdoor sports.

The Medieval Days on Mount Medvednica this year once again take us back to the time when a knight’s heart was worth every battle. Knights’ tournaments, archery workshops, torture instruments, medieval music and dancing, daring acrobatics, night-time battles with fire, shining armour, flashing swords and chivalry. Then there are also the traders at the Medieval Fair, and it could just happen that the Black Queen, legendary ruler of Medvedgrad, puts in an appearance.

And you’ll find out just how easy it is to switch from being a knight to modern times if you come to the Medvednica Outdoor Festival. This year once again the Festival guarantees fun on some of the letter known trails around Markuševac. There will be all kinds of activities on offer. Apart from the annual Znebač Trek where you’ll be able to try out your orienteering skills, try out Mountain Madness, a race with hurdles which tests your strength, endurance, speed and agility. For film buffs there’s the Medvednica Outdoor Film Festival. For those who want to know and do more there’s the mountain biking school, free climbing and slack line, and it’s hard to resist the excellent tombola or a dance at the after party. This is a festival which offers entertainment in the heart of the Medvednica Nature Park for the whole family, all with the slogan “Get Outside, Come to Us!”
