Gheorghe Zamfir: Pan Flute Master Plays at Lisinski
On 25 September music lovers will have the chance to see Gheorghe Zamfir, virtuoso pan flute player at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall.
This musician has been nominated the most popular composer of the 20th century, boasts about 100 million music sales and is the holder of more than 120 gold and platinum discs! He is the winner of numerous awards, recognitions, knighthoods and Presidential decorations. The broader public knows him also as the writer of film scores. He has worked with French producer Yves Robert on the film “The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe”, the soundtrack of which became an international hit. He took part in the production of music for film classics such as “Once Upon a Time in America”, “The Karate Kid”, “Kill Bill”, “Ciao Cristina” and “The Lake”. The great Duke Ellington said of him “Such a boundlessly talented musician, with such a special style, surely belongs among the artists who were gifted by God himself.”
