In the heart of the city - A hostel in an old carriage

The array of beautifully designed new hostels in Zagreb now includes one which was recently opened in an old railway carriage. It is located in the heart of the city, next to the entrance to the main railway station.

A hostel was recently opened in an old railway carriage located at the main railway station. The hostel’s position in the heart of the city makes it unique in comparison to other such hostels around the world which are located far away from major transport hubs. This location leaves guests enough time to explore the city and allows them to effortlessly continue their journey towards destinations along the Adriatic coast.

The hostel features a reception area and a total of ten compartments. One compartment is a common area with toilets, showers and everything else necessary for a pleasant stay. Four compartments have three beds, three compartments have two beds, and two compartments feature a single bed. It goes almost without saying that guests of the carriage hostel have free Wi-Fi access and that everything else is at hand, from various stores to bars, restaurants and other places they can easily reach on foot.

The first carriage hostel is part of the Adriatic Train Hostels project, the brainchild of a major   railway aficionado, Zvonko Momčilović, who plans to open similar hostels in cities on the Adriatic coast. Judging by the guests’ initial reactions, accommodation at the first carriage hostel in Zagreb will be in high demand.
