Along with performances by numerous globally renowned musicians, every year the INmusic Festival introduces some novelties into its programme, and this time Jarun Lake will be decked with the first ever replica of Tesla’s Tower serving as a unique stage. An authentic replica of the tower, originally constructed by one of the world’s greatest minds whose goal was to provide humanity with free, unlimited and clean energy, is the festival’s special dedication to the great scientist as well as the talented musician David Bowie.
The replica, slightly shorter than Tesla’s original tower, which was demolished 99 years ago, is a dedication to humanism, innovativeness and positive aspects of the human creative opus, and it will definitely attract interest from the global media. The connection between the two great artists, each of whom left great works behind in their respective fields, are the high ideals from which they drew inspiration for their creative work. Besides, without Tesla’s revelations, there would be no music as we know it today, nor would have contemporary music trends changed without David Bowie’s hits.
The construction of this ambitious project with a very demanding steel frame has been undertaken by the best Croatian experts from various fields, with the backing of specialists of Zagreb’s Nikola Tesla Technical Museum and the Nikola Tesla Memorial Centre in Smiljan – the birthplace of one of the world’s greatest geniuses, whose 160th anniversary of his birth is being marked this year.
The 11th edition of the INmusic Festival will take place between June 20th and 22nd. It will once again feature performances by globally renowned musicians, and attract numerous visitors, but it will also stand out with its first ever built replica of Tesla’s Tower.
