Now in Zagreb - Cats the musical, coming in March!

We have excellent news for everyone who has not yet seen the famous musical Cats, or those who wish to see it again; there will be an opportunity to do so in Zagreb in March!

Cats the musical, one of the longest running and multiply awarded musicals, will be performed for the first time in Zagreb from March 22nd until March 23th at Arena Zagreb.

One of the longest running musicals in the West End and Broadway premiered in 1981 in the New London Theatre, where it was performed for a record breaking 21 years, and came close to an impressive number of 9000 shows.

Based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T.S. Elliot, Cats the musical returned to the West End in December 2014, bringing the old creative team back together: director Trevor Nunn, assistant director and choreographer Gillian Lynne, designer John Napier and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. After the second season at the London Palladium, the production embarks on a new tour in 2017, and one of the stops is the Croatian capital.

The London production has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Oliver and the Standard, while the Broadway production proudly boasts as many as seven Tony awards. Both productions have also won a Grammy award. Interestingly, the musical has been performed in more than 30 countries, translated into more than ten languages, and seen by more than 50 million people worldwide. The song, Memory, for many the signature song of the musical, has thus far been sung by more than 150 musicians, from Barbra Streisand and Johnny Mathis to Liberace and Barry Manilow.

The 2016/2017 tour of this evergreen musical, which includes Zagreb as one of the stops, is produced by The Really Useful Theatre production house owned by Andrew Lloyd Webber, while the main promotors are David Ian Productions.

Ticket prices range between 189 kuna and 499 kuna, and they can be purchased at www.eventim.hr.
