Plac Mljac Street Festival: Trešnjevka Farmer's Market Comes Alive

For many years now the Trešnjevka farmer's market has been the go-to-place for scores of Zagreb's citizens, who like to visit it in the morning and early afternoon to shop for fresh produce. But now, thanks to the Plac Mljac Street Festival, the market will come alive in the evenings and be open until midnight.

The Plac Mljac Street Festival will be taking place between the 1st and 7th of July at the Trešnjevka farmer’s market (or Trešnjevka plac in local lingo) and attracting numerous visitors thanks to its diverse programme. Last year saw the very first edition of the festival, which in addition to a welcoming atmosphere also offered great concerts with artists from different music genres as well as tasty food. No wonder, since for many citizens the market is synonymous with healthy and delicious produce!

But this year Plac Mljac is taking things up a notch. Until July 7th from 7 pm until midnight visitors will be able to enjoy an imaginative venue that is just perfect for hanging out with friends, listening to music and tasting great food. The latter will be provided by restaurants offering a wide range of Croatian specialties as well as street food vendors. Visitors will also be able to taste cocktails, beer and other beverages.

Bands and solo artists from a variety of music genres will provide the entertainment during the seven days of the festival, which is supported by the Zagreb Tourist Board. Thanks to a great atmosphere and interesting events, many are even calling Plac Mljac Zagreb’s version of London’s Notting Hill.
