Rated by Passengers: Zagreb's Airport the Best in Europe

Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman Airport has won the flattering title of the best airport in Europe in its category for the third consecutive time.

Passengers and service users have rated Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman Airport as the best in Europe in the category of airports accommodating 2 to 5 million passengers for the third consecutive year. The airport received this flattering title for 2020 in a regular Airports Council International/Airport Service Quality (ACI/ASQ) survey which encompasses airports worldwide.

This recognition is even more important because the ratings refer to the last year, which was the most difficult and demanding year in the history of aviation. While all airports faced difficulties related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the one in Zagreb was exposed to additional major challenge due to the earthquakes which struck Zagreb and the area of Banovina last year. This makes the award even more important.

Another recognition, awarded in 2017, preceded the three-year consecutive wins of Zagreb airport in its category. That year Zagreb’s Franjo Tuđman airport was named the Most Improved Airport in the mentioned survey.

The Airport Service Quality (ASQ) is a leading, globally established programme measuring passengers' satisfaction whilst they are travelling through an airport. It is implemented by certified ASQ agents who interview passengers in airports using a standardised questionnaire. Despite a reduced number of passengers, airport categorisation which relies on the number of passengers has not been modified last year.
