Retro style - A vintage festival in the heart of the city

Between September 5th and 19th, Cesarčeva Street, located in the heart of the city, will be the venue for the first Vintage Zagreb Festival which will take visitors back to the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s of last century. Make sure to visit and discover why these decades were so special.

If you want to find out, or remember, what fashion was like and what people did for entertainment in the 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s of last century, make sure to visit Cesarčeva Street, located in the heart of the city, and attend the first Vintage Zagreb Festival taking place there between September 5th and 19th. The festival of retro culture will take visitors back to the times remembered for great music, movies, design and special styles. All visitors will find something for themselves at the festival which will feature classic car and motorcycle exhibits, fashion shows of Croatian designers, whose creations will reflect the period fashion, sales of vinyl records and original vintage furniture. Visitors will have the opportunity to partake in dance workshops, make-up and hair-styling courses, or just dance to the sounds of the best retro bands and DJs.

That, however, is not all, because the festival will also offer many other interesting things. Male visitors will have the opportunity to use the services of a retro barber shop. Such shops were once very popular throughout Zagreb, but sadly they are nowadays almost forgotten. Apart from that, there will be a hula-hoop contest for visitors to partake in, as well as the opportunity to have one’s picture taken at a photo-booth or have a bite to eat at the gastro corner.

The Vintage Zagreb Festival is backed by the Zagreb Tourist Board, so make sure to visit and enjoy, because you will discover that the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s were special in many ways indeed.

Given the unfavourable weather forecast, the beginning of Vintage Zagreb festival has been postponed for Monday 7 September 2015.
