In early September, the popular tour, “Secrets of Grič”, was nominated for the Luxury Travel Guide Award 2016. This interesting and interactive night tour, featuring elements of theatre, has been attracting citizens of Zagreb and numerous tourists for six years now. The project is organized by Katapult Promotion in cooperation with the Zagreb Tourist Board.
The “Secrets of Grič” night tour was nominated in the Holiday & Tour Specialist category through an independent nomination process. In other words, nominations are submitted by tourists and companies from all over Europe, including magazine readers, hotel guests, travel agencies and experts from the tourism industry.
The cultural tourist project presents Zagreb’s rich history in a particular and different way. The main protagonist is the great Croatian writer Marija Jurić Zagorka, whose novel “Grička Vještica” (The Witch of Grič) serves as the base for this theatre play night tour. The tour features numerous costumed characters, ranging from actors and knights to musicians and horsemen, all of whom reveal an array of interesting facts about Zagreb’s past to the visitors strolling through the night at Grič. Participants embark on the night journey with lanterns in their hands and learn about the city’s legends, run into a witch or two, as well as witness the most beautiful love story…
As in the previous years, the “Secrets of Grič” night tour takes place throughout the summer and is offered in both the Croatian and English languages. Judging by the nominations for the prestigious award, the tour has been recognized as an interesting event by numerous tourists who visited the Croatian capital.
