Sljeme for the Skiers – the World Cup in Para Alpine Skiing

On 8 and 9 January Zagreb will host the World Cup in Para Alpine Skiing.

There will be five races in the programme: downhill, slalom, grand slalom, super-G and super combination. Skiers race in three categories depending on their physical abilities, and the system fordeciding results enables skiers from different categories to compete against each other. So, for example, skiers with impaired vision have guides who show or describe the course to them. Some skiers have modified equipment such as a monoski, skis with seats or other orthopaedic aids. But what all share is exceptional skill, bravery, speed and heart. This is a top-flight sporting event on the slopes of Sljeme which you cannot miss. Croatian fans will have someone to support, since Croatia has excellent skiers such as the experienced Dino Sokolović and the young Eva Goluža.
