Summer at Stross - Open air entertainment

Once again, between May 26th and September 4th, the Strossmayer promenade beneath Lotrščak Tower in the Upper Town will be the venue for various happenings taking place as part of the Summer at Stross Festival.

Everyone who has ever visited Zagreb has also heard of the Summer at Stross Festival. The traditional event, taking place at the Strossmayer promenade beneath Lotrščak Tower, attracts numerous tourists to the capital of Croatia, and each year they are joined by increasing numbers of guests from Croatia as well as abroad. This event attracts tourists who arrive with the goal of having a great time and returning home full of impressions of their amazing trip in Zagreb.

This event, featuring an array of concerts and theatre plays, nighttime sightseeing tours, open air film screenings, interesting events in the courtyards of Zagreb’s palaces and family villas, as well as many other concurrent programs, turn the entire Upper Town into one big stage. The programme begins in the morning and takes place until late at night, so everyone can find something for themselves, from families with children to younger visitors who enjoy open air events.

Summer at Stross begins on May 26th and lasts until September 4th. Among other things, the diverse programme will include daily concerts of jazz, evergreen and nostalgic music from previous decades. One of Zagreb’s most beautiful promenades will also be the venue for the “Half New Year’s” celebration, featuring a spectacular fireworks display and giving visitors the opportunity to wish all the best to friends and loved ones and move into the second half of the year with them. Of course, this is only part of the story which has been discovered by both tourists who enjoy all of these events and the citizens of Zagreb. So make sure to visit Stross this summer, because there is plenty of room for everyone. Find what you are interested in and simply enjoy everything that is going on in the beautiful ambiance of the Upper Town.
