The 35th Evenings at Grič - Marked by top notch cultural events

Between June 28th and July 24th, the beautiful ambiance of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery atrium, the Church of St. Katarina and the Gradec plateau will be venues for the 35th Evenings at Grič, which will feature 30 top notch cultural events.

Concerts by top performers from the world of music, exhibitions, plays and cultural heritage programmes will mark the 35^th Evenings at Grič. Throughout the entire month, one of the oldest and most popular summer festivals in Croatia will feature 30 top class events. They will take place in the beautiful ambiances of the Klovićevi Dvori Gallery atrium, St. Mark’s Church and the Gradec plateau, and all will be equally interesting for fans of classical music, jazz, world music and folklore.

This year’s Evenings at Grič will begin on June 28^th, and the opening ceremony at the Klovićevi Dvori will feature a performance by the Zagreb Soloists and the talented young pianist Ivan Krpan. The renowned Croatian ensemble, whose repertoire features classical as well as contemporary music performed mostly by younger generations of Croatian composers, has been active for more than sixty years. During this time they have performed on the most prestigious stages worldwide. Apart from these top notch musicians, this year’s edition of the Evenings at Grič will also feature the first performance by Antoine Boyer, one of the most significant gipsy jazz guitarists in the world, accompanied by the Mate Matišić Trio. Audiences can also look forward to a performance by percussionist Kaja Farszky, who was educated at the Music Academy in Zagreb and the Catalan High School of Music in Barcelona, and who performs all over the world. All fans of sevdah will surely enjoy a concert by a performer with a beautiful voice, Amira Medunjanin, whose every performance touches the souls of her audience members, while there will also be a performance by the Zagreb Youth Orchestra and many other musicians. The audience will also have the opportunity to view several cult theatre plays, enjoy a performance by the Lado National Dance Ensemble, a concert by Meritas, world music Lasanthi, etc.
