The 49th PIF International Puppet Theatre Festival - Puppets are back in town

If you have children or are a fan of puppet shows, you can look forward to the diverse programme of the 49th PIF International Puppet Theatre Festival, which will take place between September 13th and 18th at several locations around the city.

Big and small, interesting and important, as well as many other kinds of puppets will once again roam around Zagreb. They will be brought to the city streets and squares by PIF – the International Puppet Theatre Festival. Visitors of this puppetry festival, which will take place for the 49th time this year between September 13th and 18th, can look forward to interesting plays performed by puppet theatres from Croatia and abroad.

Like every year, this puppetry festival for kids and adults will be heralded by a traditional carnival in the city centre on September 10th. It will be headed by the festival mascot, the giant doll Pifko, the work of academic painter Mira Dulčić. The festival will be preceded by an exhibition of children’s puppetry and an exhibition of Indonesian puppetry.

This festival also features puppetry workshops for kids and senior citizens, while puppet plays will take place in theatre and indoor venues, as well as on the streets and squares around the city.

The organiser of the PIF International Puppet Theatre Festival is the Travno Culture Centre, and more information, as well as the programme, can be found online at www.pif.hr
