The 51st Floraart - The most beautiful flower oasis in the city

Between May 30th and June 5th, Bundek Lake will be the venue for the 51st Floraart International Garden Exhibition, which is expected to attract several hundreds of thousands of visitors.

Once again, this year, Bundek Lake will explode with the most beautiful colours and ooze with the scents of beautiful flower arrangements when the 51st Floraart International Garden Exhibition opens its doors on May 30th. The exhibition will take place at Bundek Lake on a surface spreading across 30 hectares where the workers of the Zrinjevac Garden Company will plant more than 250 thousand seeds. The exhibition will feature around 150 exhibitors from Croatia as well as foreign exhibitors from ten countries.

The story of the Floraart garden exhibition is part of Zagreb’s offer and it is one of the more recognisable brands of the city. From day one it has attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors, because the citizens of Zagreb like flowers, and the city as a whole pays great attention to horticulture. The tradition of horticultural events has its roots in the late 19th century, while the first garden exhibitions were organised in the beginning of the 20th century. This was preceded by the development of a park culture in the city, with the opening of Maksimir Park in the late 18th century, as well as the complex of city parks, the so-called Lenuci Horseshoe or Green Horseshoe, which is an important aspect of Zagreb’s urban identity.

The Floraart International Garden Exhibition also features a competition for the exhibitors – the Croatian Florists’ Cup, as well as an international competition of high school students and a contest for the best house garden, which is open to all citizens of Zagreb and Zagreb County.

The exhibition will remain open until June 5th.
