The Art Park - An art oasis in the heart of the city

The “Art Park”, located in the heart of the city, between Tomićeva Street, Ilica and the Strossmayer Promenade, will be the venue for various happenings and a diverse art programme until September.

This summer, Zagreb offers a truly diverse pallet of events in numerous locations around the city. It is up to you to decide where to go and how to spend your free time in the best possible way. One such location is the “Art Park”, located between Tomićeva Street, Ilica and the Strossmayer Promenade, which will feature a diverse art programme until September.

The project was launched in June by the Pimp My Pump crew and the Lapo Lapo Street Art Studio, who have created an artistic oasis in the heart of the city. The park has undergone a makeover, and its walls have been painted by renowned street artists from the region, including Lonac, Lunar, Artez, Linnch, Bare, Modul, Džedaj and many others, giving it the look of an open air museum. Every visitor of the “Art Park” is welcome to make their own little work of art on one of the installed panels. Therefore, if you feel like painting something, feel free to come and put your best creative foot forward.

The “Art Park” project also offers a cycle of creative art workshops called “Creative Summer”, which are organised by the “Praktikum – Centre for Children and Youth”. They are aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 14, are headed by academic sculptor Melita Omeragić, and are completely free of charge. However, parents should keep in mind that the number of places for the workshop is limited and should be reserved in advance, via the email info@udruga-praktikum.hr. Apart from workshops for youngsters, there are plenty of other reasons to visit the “Art Park” and spend some of your free time in pleasant company while attending screenings, concerts, exhibitions and an array of other interesting happenings.
