The Audi FIS Ski World Cup “Snow Queen Trophy” - In the centre of the skiing world

Sljeme will once again be the centre of the skiing world, when the best slalom skiers in the world come to compete for the Snow Queen Trophy. The competitions will take place on January 3rd and 5th of next year.

In the beginning of next year, Zagreb will once again be host to the best male and female slalom skiers who will compete for the Audi FIS Ski World Cup “Snow Queen Trophy”. Traditionally, the first to compete for the Snow Queen crown will be female skiers, racing on January 3rd beginning at 1 p.m., while the second women's slalom race will start at 4.45 p.m. The men will compete in a night slalom on January 5th, with the first race starting at 2.45 p.m. and the second race at 6 p.m. Both competitions will feature a concurrent entertainment program.

Audi FIS races of the Ski World Cup have been taking place since 2005. Initially, they were organised only for the women's races, but in 2008 the men’s races were also introduced, and both quickly became among the most popular races of the World Cup. Apart from that, the slalom races at Sljeme are special because they are the only such event hosted by a state capital, and only the Sljeme slalom races crown their victors as Snow Queen or Snow King. The very special atmosphere created by the spectators is held in high regard by all participants, and it certainly attracts the interest of the media. That is why in 2013 the Snow Queen Trophy races were included in the Club 5 Ski Classics, which is an association of traditional organisers of the FIS World Cup races, and thereby joined the leading organisers of the FIS World Cup, such as Val Garden, Garmisch Partenkirchen, Kitzbühel, Wengen, Val d’Isere, etc.
