“The Devil’s Violinist” David Garrett – A Musical Sensation in Zagreb Arena

This internationally acclaimed musician, a violinist whose fans include Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel, will play in Zagreb.

As a part of his Explosive tour, on 13 October violinist David Garrett will perform in Zagreb Arena. This internationally-acclaimed German-American violinist has played concerts around the world. He is one of the best-known musicians of the younger generation, combining the charisma of a rock star and a fantastic talent. He is noted for playing classical music in a way that blurs the line between Mozart and Metallica.

Garrett earned the nickname “The Devil’s Violinist” due to both his exceptional mastery and his performance in the biographical film of that name as famous virtuoso violinist Niccolò Paganini. He performed with the Hamburg Philharmonic when he was just 11 years old; to date he has sold more than three million albums and won 23 gold and 16 platinum discs. Over 25 years of his career he has held more than 1500 concerts. He counts Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama and Chancellor Angela Merkel among his loyal fans. He has twice succeeded in setting a world record for speed in playing the violin. In the television programme “Guinness World Records” in 2008 and 2019 he played Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Flight of the Bumblebee” in 66.56 and 65.26 without a single mistake. David Garrett is a noted composer; for the album this tour promotes he composed 11 of his own works.
