THE FOURTH DESIGN WEEK – ZAGREB, CITY OF DESIGN

Zagreb Design Week is the largest event in Croatia dedicated to design, and is the only design festival to encompass the whole city, to organise large exhibitions, talks, panels, workshops, presentations, pop-up shops and guest appearances by some of the world's most famous designers.

In conjunction with its partner country, this year Austria, it organises an exhibition of design that presents to the Croatian public the recent design scene of that country. The fourth Design Week will be held on 9-14 May in 50 locations throughout the city. The central locations are however the Lauba gallery and the Design Park located right next to Lauba.

The fourth Design Week will once again, alongside partner country Austria, celebrate the best of Croatian and international design and offer numerous attractions for lovers of good design. Partner country Austria will present an exhibition of contemporary design and a number of talks in Lauba. The programme is organised as part of the Year of Culture “Austria – Croatia 2017” in association with the Austrian Cultural Forum in Zagreb.

Design Week has been held since 2014 with the aim of connecting designers with industry, as well as popularising design among the broadest possible public. Last year Design Week was visited by more than 18,000 people. The organisers have announced a great many new initiatives including both exhibitors and other content, including the highly attractive Food Design event which will bring together leading international experts in that young, interdisciplinary branch of design.
