The Institution for Management of Sports Facilities - The Day of Sports Facilities in Zagreb

With an array of recreational, sporting and cultural events, on December 6th the Institution for Management of Sports Facilities will mark the Day of Sports Facilities in Zagreb for the very first time. This is being organized as part of Advent in Zagreb.

Taking place as part of Advent in Zagreb, on December 6^th, the Institution for Management of Sports Facilities will mark the Day of Sports Facilities in Zagreb for the first time. The goal of marking this day, which saw the foundation of the Institution for Management of Sports Facilities in 2013, is to contribute to the recreational, sporting and cultural offer of the city as part of Advent in Zagreb.

The main events on the Day of Sports Facilities in Zagreb will take place in Krešimir Ćosić Square, while an array of events will also take place in structures maintained by the institution. Visitors will have free access to swimming pools (at Mladost, Utrine and the winter pool) and ice skating rinks (at Šalata, Dom Sportova and Zagreb Fair). Visitors will also have free entrance to the ice-show “A Journey through the World of Fairy Tales” at the Dom Sportova Sports Hall – beginning at noon, while the same venue will be host to an exhibition futsal match as part of the Kutija Šibica Futsal Tournament, starting at 5 p.m. All fans of ice skating will also have the opportunity to attend disco on ice, which will take place at the Šalata ice rink, beginning at 8.30 p.m.

Apart from all of the events in Krešimir Ćosić Square, featuring a performance by Klinci s Ribnjaka (Kids from Ribnjak), citizens and children will also have the opportunity to meet Hrki – the mascot of the European University Games 2016, which is being hosted by Zagreb and Rijeka. That, however, is not all, because throughout December the Institution for Management of Sports Facilities is offering a 20 percent Advent discount to all those who buy tickets to swimming pools and ice skating rinks.
