Lovers of sparkling wines will have already made a note in their diaries – on 2 February Hotel Dubrovnik and the second Salon of Sparkling Wines in Zagreb! This carries on what was so successfully started last year when the first Salon of Sparkling Wine brought a great many winemakers from Croatia and Slovenia to Zagreb and the response from visitors far exceeded expectations, once more proving that sparkling wines are a real hit.
The Salon in Zagreb is organised by partners Radosne Prireditve along the same lines as a tried and tested model from Ljubljana, Slovenia, where last year, one week after Zagreb the fourth Salon of Sparkling Wines was held. This proved that wine speaks a universal language and connects people. The partnership between Zagreb and Ljubljana was more successful than anyone expected. For that reason the organisers decided to found the international “Salon of Sparkling Wines” network which will grow, first of all throughout the region, connecting capital cities through sparkling wines. And the first Salon from the network is this, Zagreb’s second Salon of Sparkling Wines, which will kick off the new wine season in Zagreb on Friday 2 February 2018. One week later the fifth Salon will be held in Ljubljana, a great start to wine events in that city this year.
Both salons will be organised along the same lines: bringing together the best producers of sparkling wines, their top class bubblies, selected delicacies and a host of lovers of sparkling wines. The message and the aim of the Salon remains the same: to grow the culture of sparkling wines and with that aim free guided tastings will be organised for visitors.
Some 40 exhibitors are expected at the Salon who can register their wines for a grand international competition for both salons, Zagreb and Ljubljana. The competition, the largest in the region, will be held in Ljubljana.
