THE SECOND ZAGREB SPRING HALF MARATHON – ZAGREB21

Just like other cities, Zagreb has a half marathon! The second Zagreb Spring Half Marathon – Zagreb21 will start on Sunday 19 March in front of the National University Library at 10 am sharp.

All races start at the same time, and those who are not yet ready for the half marathon may, at the same time and in the same place, start the 5 kilometre race.

The Zagreb Half Marathon is an athletic road race 21,098 metres long. The race is made up of two equal circles 10,549 metres long. The starting and finishing line are in the same place. As well as the checkpoint at the end of the circuit there are two further checkpoints on the longest stretches of the track – at the turning circle in front of the footbridge and Bundek.

The half marathon is open to everyone aged 16 and over on the day of the race. Under 16s who are over 14 may run with the permission of their parents and a sports medicine specialist. The half marathon also has relay races. Competitors enter as teams of four, regardless of gender and age. There is also the 5 kilometre race which is open to everyone over 12 years of age, and to younger runners with their parents' and doctor's consent. Medals and cash prizes await the marathon's winners, although these are of secondary importance to the runners.
