The Zagreb Picnic and the Art Park Project Are Calling You – Come to the Park!

The city’s green oases are calling your name! The Zagreb Picnic and the Art Park offer shade, peace and attractive events for all ages.

In the Maksimir Park, one of the most beautiful parks in Europe, every Saturday from 10 am to 8 pm from June to September, the Zagreb Picnic is held by the Second Lake. The Zagreb Picnic is a reminder of the good old Zagreb tradition of get-togethers with family and friends, of home-made food from a picnic basket and enjoying the shade of the centuries-old trees in Maksimir. If you forget your picnic basket there’s a Picnic Bar, there are DJs playing just the right music, there’s equipment for sports and games and a kids’ corner, especially for little book-lovers.

In the loveliest little park in the centre of Zagreb, in between Tomićeva ulica, Ilica and Strossmayerovo šetalište, on 25 May the Art Park project starts for the third year. Right up to 30 September the Art Park will host artists from Croatia and abroad, offering pleasant summer afternoons, an open-air gallery and a varied daily programme with something for everyone. Masters of the art of the mural will be painting walls and panels in the park; visitors will mingle while a DJ supplies the tunes, or you can sit on a very special reading bench. This year the park has been fitted with interesting prefabricated architectural solutions and additional urban greenery by Grow studio and Hortiart. A varied programme has been confirmed with a host of partners including galleries, festivals, museums and theatres.
