Zagreb Be There and the Sweetmas Route – A Stroll through the Candied Walkways of Petra Jelenić

The international award-winning mobile application Zagreb Be There, which helps locals and guests alike discover hidden corners of the city, has a new route especially for those with a sweet tooth!

The Sweetmas Route is made up of selected locations where you can try something delicious and sweet. The Sweetmas Route this advent reveals all: from places where you can eat traditional cookies to those where you can try modern desserts. Petra recommends seven sweet locales: the cake shops Cukeraj, Orijent, Time, Medenko, 041, Vis à Vis by Vincek and the Korica bakery. Jelenić explains why: Cukeraj offers a fusion of traditional and rustic cakes; Orijent is one of the oldest cake shops in Zagreb while the Time cake shop is hi-tech. In Medenko linden blossom ice cream is on the menu, while in the 041 cake shop you can enjoy raspberry ice cream, and in Vis à Vis by Vincek there are sweets suitable for people with special dietary requirements. Korica is a bakery which makes bread from authentic ingredients and according to traditional recipes. As well as the Sweetmas Route there is also an updated Advent in Zagreb route in which you’ll find Zrinjevac, Fuliranje, the Ice Park and Strossmayerovo šetalište joined this year by the Grič Tunnel and Gornji grad. The application works along the lines of a game; all visitors who travel the whole route and check in at every location with the #BeThereZagreb hashtag win prizes. The application is free and is available for Android and iPhone, and can also be downloaded from the betherezagreb.com microsite. It was created by the agency Bruketa&Zinić&Grey in partnership with Zagreb Tourist Board.
