As chosen by users of the European Best Destinations website, Zagreb has for the third time been voted best destination for the Christmas holidays in Europe. Thus the Croatian capital, among 20 candidate cities, defended its title which it will again hold in 2018, becoming the only city to hold the title of best Christmas destination three years running.
200,596 people from 131 countries took part in the vote for the best Christmas destination for 2018 on the European Best Destinations website, and 38,830 of those voted for Zagreb. Second place was won by Colmar, France, with 24,625 votes.
By country, apart from Croatians, Zagreb was the destination of choice for Americans, Canadians, Russians, Greeks and Australians, while for the British, Germans and Austrians it was in second place, immediately after their home cities. Three people from Kenya also voted for Zagreb.
