Zagreb Classic 2019: Top Open-Air Concerts

An excellent music program and beautiful setting would each on its own be enough for spectators to enjoy Zagreb Classic. When they coincide, they become an appealing combination which invites thrilled audience to fill every corner of the lawn of one of the most beautiful city squares at every concert.

This year’s Zagreb Classic, whose fourth edition again takes place on one of the most beautiful spots in the city - King Tomislav Square, will start on 21 June with the concert of Croatian Radio-Television Choir and Symphony Orchestra. On the next day there will be a concert of Croatian Radio-Television Tamburitza Orchestra and Los Caballeros, while Sunday 23 June is the right time for the concert of Croatian Radio-Television Jazz Orchestra and Cubismo. On Tuesday, to mark the Statehood Day, LADO, the National Folk Dance Ensemble of Croatia will hold a concert entitled “Let Sun Shine to Everyone”. Two days later, Zagreb Philharmonic and musician Tonči Huljić will perform for the audience, and on the last Saturday in July, Moscow cadets will hold a concert in the occasion of Moscow City Day celebration in Zagreb.

The evening of 1 July will be marked by the concert of Symphonic Wind Orchestra of the Croatian Armed Forces, and two days later the Croatian National Theatre Opera will perform a program entitled “Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow”. On Sunday, 7 July, the Croatian National Theatre Ballet will perform the ballet piece Apoxyomenos, and on the last day of Zagreb Classic, on 9 July, Komedija Theatre will put on a show entitled Broadway in Komedija – Inventory.

All concerts are free of charge. Due to carefully selected repertoire and a lovely surroundings and atmosphere, they spark off a lot of interest among the audience, which particularly enjoys listening to excellent music program out in the open, while sitting on a lawn.
