Zagreb Fair – the Second Festival of Oils and Olives

Organised by the Zagreb Institute of Olive Growers, on 4 and 5 February the second Zagreb Olive Festival was held at the Zagreb Fair.

The aim of this event is to enable people to learn about olives and olive products; to meet with olive growers from all over Croatia, to give people the chance to have fun, learn something new, try some excellent Croatian olive oils and healthy and tasty food prepared with olives and olive oil. The organisers put on a packed and varied programme.

There are oil tastings, creative workshops making face and body creams based on olive oil, preparation and tasting of healthy foods and ingredients made from olives and olive oil, exhibits and sale of high quality Croatian oils made by olive growers, family farms and growers’ associations from Istria, the Primorje coast and Dalmatia. At the festival the jury’s scoring of over one hundred samples of olive oil is presented. The organisers hope that the festival will become a regular gathering for Zagreb’s citizens, olive growers and olives. Their imperative is, they say, to enable Zagreb’s citizens to buy the best olive oils from all over Croatia.
