Voters of the European Best Destinations portal have decided: Zagreb is the best Christmas destination in Europe. The competition consisted of twenty European cities, which received votes from 101,703 people from 176 countries. Zagreb got a vote from 29,901 people.
The competition was very tough for Zagreb, but it left cities such as Strasbourg, Aachen, Colmar, Brussels, Leipzig, Rothenburg, Nuremberg, Lille and Dresden behind... During the period of Advent, Zagreb creates a very special atmosphere which must be experienced. Increasing numbers of tourists have selected the Croatian capital as their Christmas destination because entertainment is guaranteed at almost every step, while the city streets and squares are inviting spots to relax and enjoy music, dancing and other forms of fun with family and friends… These are just a few of the aspects of the offer which has helped Zagreb become number one in the prestigious contest. So make sure to take the opportunity to be part of the most beautiful European Christmas fairy tale, as Advent in Zagreb lasts until January 10th. A special attraction is the Ice Park, a favourite place for children. The kids enjoy the ice rink all day long, while evening also attracts other visitors who find their own source of entertainment. Music, dance and an offer of various delicacies can also be found at nearby Zrinjevac Park, as well as at Zagreb’s central square of Ban Josip Jelačić.
